Description

Caring for infants from 6 weeks to 12 months requires specialized skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of early development. At this stage, children rely on caregivers for all aspects of their safety, health, and well-being, while also beginning to explore the world through movement, sensory experiences, and early communication. This course provides the essential safety, health, hygiene, and classroom organization skills you need to create a nurturing and developmentally supportive environment for infants.

You’ll learn best practices for infant safety, including safe sleep guidelines, proper supervision techniques, and injury prevention. The course will also cover health and hygiene routines such as proper diapering and sanitation procedures, bottle preparation and feeding safety, and illness prevention to protect both infants and staff.

In addition, you’ll explore effective organization strategies for an infant classroom, from arranging the space for safe exploration to creating calm, predictable routines that meet each baby’s individual needs. Special focus will be given to building strong caregiver-infant bonds, reading infants’ cues, and integrating developmentally appropriate activities that promote sensory, motor, and early language skills.

By the end of this course, you’ll be equipped to create a safe, clean, and well-organized environment that supports infants’ physical health, emotional security, and early learning—laying the foundation for healthy growth during this critical first year of life.

Harper L.

This course was incredibly informative and helped me better understand the unique needs of infants during their first year. I loved how it broke down each developmental stage and connected it to practical caregiving strategies. The tips on reading infant cues, supporting early communication, and creating responsive routines were especially helpful. I feel much more confident working with even the youngest babies in my care.

Chloe A.

I really enjoyed this training. It explained infant development in a clear, approachable way and offered tons of real-life examples that made the content easy to apply. The course emphasized safety, bonding, and nurturing environments, which has improved how I structure feedings, diapering, playtime, and rest routines. I can already see a difference in how calm and secure my infants seem throughout the day.

Paige M.

This course exceeded my expectations. It covered everything from early brain development to building strong caregiver-child relationships. The strategies for tummy time, sensory play, and promoting early motor skills were incredibly useful. I appreciated how the course encouraged mindful, responsive caregiving rather than rushing infants through routines. It’s a must-take for anyone working with babies under one year old.
