Caring for children between 18 and 36 months is an energetic, engaging, and pivotal stage in early childhood education. Toddlers in this age range are rapidly developing their language, motor skills, independence, and social awareness while still needing attentive guidance for safety, health, and emotional security. This course equips you with the safety, health, hygiene, and classroom organization skills necessary to create a structured, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for older toddlers.
You’ll learn essential safety practices for active and curious learners, including supervision strategies, injury prevention, and ways to create spaces that encourage exploration while minimizing hazards. The course will also address health and hygiene routines such as toileting support, proper handwashing, mealtime safety, and illness prevention to protect children and staff.
We’ll also explore organization strategies that help promote independence and skill-building—such as arranging activity areas for easy access, rotating developmentally appropriate materials, and establishing predictable routines that offer structure without stifling creativity. You’ll gain tools to manage group dynamics, handle transitions effectively, and encourage positive peer relationships as children begin to play and problem-solve together.
By the end of this course, you’ll be prepared to maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized classroom that supports the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth of toddlers as they prepare for the preschool years.
This course was incredibly insightful and gave me a much deeper understanding of toddler behavior. I loved how it explained why toddlers act the way they do—especially around big emotions, independence, and exploration. The strategies for guiding behavior, supporting language development, and setting up toddler-friendly environments were practical and easy to apply. I feel far more confident in my toddler classroom.
I really enjoyed this training! It provided a perfect balance of developmental information and real-world examples. The tips on handling challenging moments, like transitions and sharing struggles, were especially helpful. I also appreciated the focus on fostering communication and self-help skills. Since taking this course, I’ve seen more cooperation and engagement from my toddlers.
This course exceeded my expectations. It broke down toddler development in a clear and relatable way and offered meaningful strategies for supporting their rapid growth. The sections on emotional regulation, sensory needs, and creating consistent routines really stood out. I now have a better understanding of how to approach behavior with patience and intention. Highly recommend for anyone working with toddlers.
