Toddlerhood is a remarkable stage of discovery, growth, and rapid change. Between the ages of 1 and 3, children make incredible strides in physical abilities, cognitive skills, language, social connections, and emotional understanding. This course takes an in-depth look at the unique developmental journey of toddlers, helping caregivers and educators understand what to expect and how to best support children during this formative period.
You’ll explore critical developmental milestones—from first steps and early problem-solving to emerging speech, social play, and emotional regulation. The course will also examine early learning behaviors and how toddlers’ curiosity drives their desire to explore, experiment, and gain independence.
We’ll cover practical strategies for fostering communication, encouraging positive peer interactions, supporting self-help skills, and guiding problem-solving in age-appropriate ways. Special attention will be given to understanding toddlers’ emotional needs, responding to big feelings, and creating safe, stimulating, and nurturing environments where they can thrive.
By the end of this course, participants will be equipped with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to guide toddlers through these crucial years—laying the foundation for future academic success, social skills, and emotional well-being.
This course offered such an eye-opening look into toddler development. I appreciated how it broke down social-emotional, cognitive, and physical growth in a way that made sense for real classroom practice. The examples of toddler behaviors and the explanations behind them helped me reframe challenging moments with more patience and understanding. I walked away with so many strategies I could immediately use in my toddler room.
I absolutely loved this course. It helped me better understand the ‘why’ behind toddler behaviors—especially those big emotions that happen during transitions or routines. The section on supporting independence and fostering language development was incredibly helpful. I’ve already implemented several strategies, and I can see my toddlers responding more positively. This training is a must-have for any toddler teacher.
This was one of the most informative toddler development trainings I’ve taken. The course not only covered developmental milestones but also gave practical tools for observation, guiding behavior, and creating responsive environments. It really emphasized how toddlers learn best through exploration, repetition, and supportive relationships. I’m much more confident in planning activities and communicating with families about their child’s development.
