About ECE University

We Built This Because We Couldn't Find What Our Own Schools Needed

ECE University exists because the people who started it run childcare centers. We sat through the same generic trainings you’ve sat through. We watched talented teachers check boxes instead of building skills. And we decided the educators in our industry deserved something better.

Our Story

This work started in 2016 — not with a business plan, but with a problem. The childcare programs we operated needed training that actually helped staff become better at their jobs. Not training that just satisfied a licensing checkbox. Not training made for every industry under the sun with “childcare” pasted on top.

We needed professional development built for the specific, daily realities of running an early childhood program. So we started building it ourselves, inside our own schools.

That early work became the foundation for what is now ECE University — a professional development platform created within the Inspire Care 360 ecosystem, shaped by years of hands-on experience, and designed entirely for the early childhood education industry.

Where It Started

Built by Childcare Operators — Not Outsiders

This is not a tech company trying to sell to childcare. This is not a generic training vendor who learned the word “preschool” last year.

ECE University was created by people who own and operate childcare centers. We deal with licensing visits. We onboard new teachers. We’ve covered classrooms when staff called out. We know what it feels like when a parent is upset, when a toddler room is short-staffed, and when your best lead teacher gives notice.

That experience shapes everything about how this platform works. The courses are built around situations you actually face. The skills we teach are skills your staff actually need. And the tools we provide are designed for the way real schools operate — not the way a software company imagines they do.

Why ECE University Is Different

Most childcare training is built for compliance. We built ours for competence.
There’s a meaningful difference.

The Industry Standard
Compliance-Driven Training

Staff complete hours to satisfy a licensing requirement. The content is often generic, disconnected from real classroom work, and designed to produce a certificate — not a skill. Teachers finish the training and nothing changes in the classroom.

The Industry Standard
Competency-Driven Training

Staff doesn’t just complete training they demonstrate it.Each course is designed around real classroom application, with guided practice and measurable outcomes. The result is clear: teachers improve how they manage their classroom, engage children, and apply what they’ve learned every day.

Our Mission: Strengthen the People Who Shape Children's Lives

We believe early childhood educators deserve serious professional development — the same quality of training that any skilled professional expects. Our mission is to improve staff competency, support leadership development, and help childcare programs operate with greater confidence and consistency. When educators grow, children benefit. That’s the whole point.

What the Platform Provides

Practical tools and pathways designed for the people who actually work inside childcare
programs every day.

Structured Learning Pathways

Courses organized into clear progressions that build knowledge and skill over time — not a random catalog of unrelated topics.

Mentor-Validated Practicals

Educators demonstrate skills with real children under mentor observation. This is where training becomes ability — not just information absorbed, but competence proven.

CDA Preparation & Credential Pathways

A complete 121-hour Gold Standard CDA program covering all eight subject areas, plus dedicated portfolio preparation — so candidates can earn their credential with confidence.

School-Delivered Training Tools

Centers can use the platform to deliver their own onboarding and internal training. Your school's specific processes and expectations, delivered through a professional system.

We didn't build ECE University because we saw a market opportunity. We built it because we were running schools and we needed it to exist. The early childhood workforce deserves professional development that treats them like the professionals they are.

Our Commitment to This Industry

ECE University is privately owned, independently operated, and focused entirely on early childhood education. That focus isn’t going to change.

Privately Owned

No venture capital. No outside investors steering decisions. Our priorities are shaped by what childcare programs actually need.

Industry-Focused

We believe consistent success starts with strong fundamentals healthy staff, a strong reputation, highly competent teachers, and full compliance. That’s why everything we do is built specifically for early childhood education, with training, workforce, and operational support designed for childcare centers from the ground up not adapted from other industries.

Mission-Driven

When the people working with young children have better training and better support, children get better care. That’s the mission. Everything else follows from it.

The Future of Childcare Depends on the People Inside It

Every educator who grows. Every director who leads with confidence. Every school that runs a little better than it did yesterday. That’s how this industry gets stronger — one person, one program, one skill at a time.
