Maine State Courses
Maine requires child care staff to complete 30 hours of professional development every two years to maintain compliance with the state’s licensing regulations. Specific requirements include training in mandated reporting, first aid/CPR, and safe sleep practices, as well as participation in the state’s Raising Readers and Maine Roads to Quality (MRTQ) initiatives. Directors and lead teachers are expected to pursue ongoing education aligned with the Career Lattice or hold degrees in early childhood fields.
