Disclaimer for Maryland Residents
ECE University is actively working to establish formal approval with the state of Maryland. We have made multiple attempts to collaborate with the appropriate agencies; however, the state’s review and approval process has been on hold for some time.
Please note that while formal approval is pending, our courses are designed to meet Maryland state standards, and ECE University is an IACET-accredited provider, recognized for quality continuing education and training. Our courses are accepted in every other U.S. state, and we remain committed to gaining recognition in Maryland as soon as the state resumes processing.
We appreciate your understanding and are here to support your professional development.
Maryland State Courses
Maryland requires early childhood educators to complete 12 clock hours of professional development annually for continued employment in licensed child care programs. Specific topics must include health and safety, child development, and curriculum planning. Lead teachers must also meet educational benchmarks through the Maryland Child Care Credential Program (MCCCP), a tiered system that offers bonuses and recognition based on training levels.
