In this course, participants will explore the role of technology in early childhood and educational settings, learning how to distinguish between meaningful, educational screen time and unnecessary or excessive device use. You will examine how different types of digital content affect children’s attention, learning, and social development, helping you make informed decisions about when and how technology should be used.
Participants will also learn about the educational benefits of technology when used appropriately. The course highlights ways digital tools can support learning in areas such as literacy, math, creativity, communication, and problem-solving. You will discover how interactive technology can enhance engagement, provide access to diverse learning experiences, and support different learning styles.
In addition, the course will discuss best practices for integrating technology into learning environments, including setting healthy boundaries, selecting high-quality educational apps and programs, and balancing technology use with hands-on activities, play, and social interaction.
