Rhode Island State Approved Courses
Rhode Island educators are guided by the Comprehensive Early Childhood Education (CECE) standards. Teachers in licensed programs must hold a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, while assistant teachers need at least 12 college credits in the field. Ongoing professional development must be aligned with Rhode Island’s Workforce Knowledge and Competency Framework, with a strong focus on inclusion, equity, and family engagement.
