Iowa State Approved Courses
In Iowa, early childhood educators working in licensed centers must meet training standards set by the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Staff must complete pre-service health and safety training, including topics such as mandatory reporting, CPR/First Aid, and child development. Additionally, educators must complete at least 10 hours of training annually, and lead teachers must show progress toward qualifications outlined in Iowa’s Early Care and Education Career Pathway system.
