Tennessee State Approved Courses
In Tennessee, staff in licensed child care centers must complete at least 18 hours of annual professional development. Training must include topics such as child development, safe sleep practices, behavior management, and emergency procedures. Directors are required to complete 30 hours annually. The state tracks training through the TNPAL (Tennessee Professional Archive of Learning) registry and encourages participation in the Tennessee STARS QRIS system.
